Job Description:
South Texas Mental Health Associates in Corpus Christi, Texas,
is seeking to add a dedicated and compassionate Child & Adolescent
Psychiatrist to our growing mental health team. We provide
comprehensive patient-oriented care to address mental health
issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood
disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, and more. The ideal candidate will
possess a strong psychopharmacology and behavioral health
background, with experience in outpatient and inpatient settings.
The role requires a fellowship-trained provider in child and
adolescent psychiatry with experience in providing comprehensive
psychiatric care to patients, including those with developmental
disabilities and addiction issues. The primary responsibility will
be in the outpatient setting, however there is an opportunity for
the Psychiatrist to serve as an inpatient Child & Adolescent
Medical Director. Inpatient responsibilities include conducting
diagnostic evaluations, assisting the inpatient team in development
of treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare
professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
: This position will include a combination of inpatient and
outpatient work, including managing the child IOP/PHP program,
developing and maintaining protocols, and ensuring compliance with
laws and regulations. Call is required one weekend per month and
two holidays per year. Inpatient responsibilities include: Managing
child IOP/PHP program Managing APPs Completing psychiatric
evaluations and discharges during the week. (APP seeing follow-ups
unless MD is needed) Attend treatment team meetings Call is 4
weekdays per month (one per week) and 1 weekend per month
Outpatient responsibilities include: Clinic in the afternoon
Psychiatric evaluations for medication management Follow-up
medication management appointments Appointment times are flexible
and based on provider preference, but generally 40 min intakes, 20
min follow-ups for stable patients. Additional opportunities
available: TMS mapping (training provided) Overseeing ketamine
program (training provided) Additional weekend coverage for
increased pay Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications : Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in
Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Board Certified or Board Eligible
with plan to take Boards within 3 years. Strong knowledge of
psychopharmacology principles and practices. Familiarity with
outpatient psychiatric care settings. Excellent communication
skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient
