and Qualifications Under the general supervision of the VP Quality,
the Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for developing hospital wide
educational curriculum for staff nurses and physicians focused on
the early recognition of severe sepsis and activation of the Code
Sepsis Team.; assessing the appropriate and early assessment of
severe sepsis patient presenting the emergency department, the
compliance with the sepsis bundle and issues related to the
transfer of patient care to the ICU team; sepsis data collection
and presentation to the hospital leadership and Medical Executive
Committee. What you will do in this role: - Responsible for overall
surviving sepsis program initiative and identifying areas for
improvement in recognition, process of ‘Code Sepsis/ Sepsis Alert’
activation, compliance in completing the sepsis bundle and
providing suggestion to improve outcomes. - Evaluating
hospital-wide Code Sepsis protocol compliance and the completion of
the Early Goal Directed Therapy Sepsis Bundle. - Build team of
sepsis champions including charge and unit nurse, key physician
representing the Emergency Department, Intensivist Group,
Hospitalists and Surgeons. - Participating on ICU Multidisciplinary
Rounds to follow up on ‘Code Sepsis’ patients and identify missed
opportunities for ‘Code Sepsis’ activation. - Conducting daily
Sepsis Rounds during which unit patients and previous subjects of
code sepsis are provided follow up and current length of stay,
complications related to severe sepsis are addressed. What
qualifications you will need: - Current licensure with the Texas
Board of Nursing - Hospital Nursing Experience - Minimum 3-years
(5-years preferred) - Bachelors Degree Corpus Christi Medical
