This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for providing age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Responsibilities include: Assisting with basic health care needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Recording and monitoring vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring and repositioning using appropriate techniques. Facilitating a positive dining experience by assisting with meals and snacks. Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicating any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens. Maintaining cleanliness in living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs. Participating in departmental committees as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum age of 16 years. Previous experience as a nursing assistant in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months of starting the position. Completion of annual competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum of 12 hours required annually). For applicable states, certification and registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be required. This role may require a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle report, depending on facility needs.
