Job Title: Construction Coordinator
Schedule: Hybrid
Location: Port Lavaca, Texas
Temp to perm - Potentially
This position provides construction support for assigned projects
and reports to the Capital Projects Manager.
Duties include:
- Coordination of efforts required to execute field construction,
coordination of construction at the site with other work groups
such as operations and maintenance
- Providing direction to multiple contractors as needed to
execute the work and to make certain that project safety and
quality expectations are met.
- This position is expected to lead Constructability Reviews,
approve contractor time sheets, conduct Pre-Startup Safety Reviews
(PSSR), and assure compliance with all Client or site-specific
procedures and standards.
- This position interfaces with project management, estimating,
scheduling, project engineering, quality and cost control
personnel.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED
- 2-year Associates degree in a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Construction Management or
Engineering Discipline a plus
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in a process plant
environment
- Three (3) years' working in construction management
Skills:
- Use of numerous software packages, including Microsoft Office,
SAP, Microsoft Project
- Must be able to complete assigned tasks independently with
minimal instruction and have the initiative to obtain guidance on
new assignments when needed.
- Solid analytical and problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Able to read and interpret multi-discipline construction
drawing ( i.e., piping, instrument, electrical, civil, and
structural)
Further details of duties:
- Coordinate efforts required to execute field construction at
the site with other work groups such as operations and

- Provide construction knowledge and expertise input to project
teams.
- Support project teams in the development of construction cost
estimates, critically review estimates prepared by construction
contractors for completeness of scope, content and accuracy.
- Review project drawing packages
- Coordinate construction facility needs such as, office space,
shops, trailers, water, power and communications.
- Provides daily guidance to contractors as to which projects are
scheduled to be worked against the project database and plant site
priorities.
- Leads project teams in resolution of construction issues
involving cost, schedule and field changes.
- Works with Client operations and maintenance resources daily to
coordinate activities in the field.
- Works across all units and technologies to make sure work is
progressing against the approved schedule.
- Develops weekly work plans to maximize the efficiency of the
contract work force against the overall project schedule.Contact:
