Overview / Responsibilities Wood is gathering resumes for an Electrical Designer with 5-10 year of experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical industry for our Corpus Christi, TX Office. This is for future opportunities. Preferred candidates will possess strong Electrical skills. Working knowledge in Instrumentation design is a plus. Local candidates are preferred as there is no relocation assistance or per diem offered.Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.Functions in a primary design role, providing drawing and deliverable development to accomplish overall project objectives Performs tasks with competency and extensive knowledge of standard techniques, procedures and design criteria. Maintaining Budget, Schedule and adherence to the project scope of workWork closely with plant engineers, contractors, and team members to achieve project successField as-built, and design as project requiresAssist with material take-offs and construction BOMsCreate CADD designs/drawings from Engineering and Design sketches, mark-ups, go-bys and verbal instruction. Coordinate with other discipline designers to ensure verbally received information is communicated and clearly understoodDevelop complete drawing and deliverable packages on each electrical system including One-Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Interconnect Wiring Diagrams, Plans, Details, Cable Schedules and Various spreadsheetsAssure drawings are compatible and aligned with project and client requirementsApply working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations including NEC, API etc. Skills / Qualifications Successful candidate to possess:2 year Associate's Degree or combination of experience and coursework in Electrical Power Systems or related disciplineFormal coursework or experience in AutoCADMinimum of 5 years industry experience working in the design field, perferably working directly in a refinery / chemical manufacturing facilityThe ability to participate in occasional field visits, climbing stairs, gathering information, measuring, marking up existing drawingsStrong ethical standards. High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative. Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable Accountability for results.
