Job Description:

Primary Purpose:Responsible for the architectural guidance and consultation on all assigned software development initiatives of National General Insurance. Develops, documents and prototypes architectural designs. This role will be responsible for providing a roadmap and executing the upgrade of existing software to newer technologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. • Design major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure
• Provide architectural guidance and consultation of software development initiatives
• Create and document architectural designs
• Research and recommend technologies and systems that promote the corporate direction for software architectures and the connectivity between systems
• Provide technical leadership to the application development team
• Perform design and code reviews
• Ensure that uniform enterprisewide application design standards are maintained
• Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirementsMinimum Skills and Competencies:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in web application design and implementation
  • Experience in C# .NET and/or VB.NET
  • SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and SOLID design principles
  • Strong knowledge of development best practices
  • Must be flexible, open to suggestions, self-motivated, eager to learn, goal oriented and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainties
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Demonstrate strong logical and complex technical problem solving skills.
  • Experience with applying design and architectural patterns
  • Experience in end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project
  • Good at understanding requirements and estimation
  • Have passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existing skills
  • Self-starter that can work well in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt and respond in a rapidly evolving business environment
  • Mentor other developers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Desired Skills:
    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
