Job Details * Full-time * Classification: Exempt * Reports to: Technical Services Manager * Industry: Electric Utility Primary Responsibilities Specifies, designs, installs, and maintains servers, networks (local and/or wide area), AMI systems, hardware and software for meter reading systems, line design and maintenance, and all other systems. Provides reliable and current knowledge and application of various technical systems, strong proficiency in cybersecurity as it relates to technical systems and enterprise environments. Provides expertise in virtual environments on premise and in the cloud (VMWare / Azure / AWS). Essential Job Functions * Enables peak performance of the customer and management information and communications systems of the Cooperative by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, and performing testing activities on the Cooperative's computer equipment. * Customizes the Cooperative's information technology resources by configuring, assembling, installing, and testing computer equipment or units of LANs (VLANS) and WANs requiring use of standard interface protocols. * Optimizes the fiscal and physical efficiencies of the Cooperative by completing work orders (Jira tickets). * Elevates the Cooperative's use of information technology by configuring and setting up servers to work with various programs, installing software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMWare virtual servers, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS and ensuring server backups and networked user backups are performed on a scheduled basis. * Maximizes user efficiencies by working with users to monitor, schedule and respond to Computer Service Requests (Jira tickets) and by ensuring completed assignments meet departmental standards and that documentation is complete and ensures that user training information is available and accessible and provides user training as needed. Minimum Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Advanced skills in computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, networking, and general computer support services. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Server Software, Linux, and various networking equipment. * Technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users. * Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment. * Ability to organize work and meet deadlines. Preferred Requirements * Associates degree preferred. * CompTIA Network+, Security+ preferred. * VMWare certification is preferred.
