Grade: 6Grade Profile: 3-11Frequency: Hourly ORR approved additional pay of $5 per hour through 9/30/2021 or until funds are no longer available. Pay rate has been adjusted to reflect this short-term pay change.Education: Required - Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services or socialservicesPreferred - Master's degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social
services fieldsExperience: Required - with Master's Degree - At least 3 years of progressive employment
experience in these fields that demonstrate supervisory and case management
experienceOR with Bachelor's degree - At least 5 years of progressive employment experience
in these fields that demonstrate supervisory and case management experience.
Preferred - Child welfare and experience in working with immigrant populationsSupervises: NoneSummary: The Trainer facilitates a comprehensive training program for newly hired and
experienced staff in accordance with agency policies and procedures and federal
and state standards and requirements.To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without
reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:Approved (ADA) Rev. 5/7/2020Essential Functions:1. Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for the post release and home study
2. Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials.
3. Frequently travel from one location to another inclusive of distances greater than 50 miles
from home office.
4. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
5. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this
2. Provide relevant training that meets agency, licensing and contract requirements and the
individual needs of each staff.
3. Consistently provide and update training for Office of Refugee Resettlement care facilities,
community services and other stakeholders.
4. Develop, maintain and distribute a staff training calendar that provides staff numerous
opportunities for development including evening and overnight shifts.
5. Maintain a staff training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to
training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes.
6. Maintain program personnel files, training records and training certifications.
7. Develop professional relationships with other peers in the field, including private agencies and
supporting agencies.
8. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
9. Implement BCFS Health and Human Services safety protocols in case of an emergency.
10. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
11. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
12. Maintain BCFS Health and Human Services professional and ethical standards of
conduct outlined in BCFS Health and Human Services employee handbook including
demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and
complying with required dress code at all times.Credentials, Skills and Abilities:1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to
CPR, First Aid and Emergency Behavior Intervention.
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control
and professional composure at all times.
3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and
socio-economic characteristics
b. Work in a fast paced environment and maintain emotional control and
professional composure at all times
c. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
d. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as
a member of a multidisciplinary team
