The F405 Operations Engineer Lead is responsible for leading a team of experienced and highly skilled Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) and/or MRO engineers to produce MRO solutions in support of the Adour F405 Defence business in returning to service a high volume of high value assets. This challenging role requires the agile individual to adapt to dynamic business conditions where priorities frequently change across the business. The successful candidate will be bold in their approach to collaborating between all levels of the supply chain and business stakeholders

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the development, deployment and communication of relevant integrated commodity /category / supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for technical support of supply chain(s).
  • Work collaboratively, as part of the Defense Sector to ensure that strategies meet the needs of the business/functional programs.
  • Provide technical leadership to MRO engineers responsible for delivering the service.
  • Perform product program oversight as it relates to assigned MRO development activities.
  • Where designated, you will be relied on for the effective management and resourcing of technical support to strategic partners and suppliers
  • Nurture effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to integrate functional and program priorities

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Material Science with 5+ years of experience in Materials, Design Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, OR
  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Physics or Material Science with 3+ years of experience in Materials, Design Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, OR
  • 9+ years of experience in Materials, Design Engineering or Aerospace Engineering in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident or eligible for an Export License as required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge across Design, V&V, Manufacturing, Materials, MRO, LCE, EfS, and RRC Products to facilitate competent management of the deployed engineering team of engineers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the materials and manufacturing processes related to gas turbine components.
  • Experience in problem solving and process improvement or equivalent (Robust Design, Black belt, PELA etc.)
  • Advocate for positive change, including using statistical tools.
  • Have understanding of engine performance characteristics
  • Basic requirements plus a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering Management
  • Proven, extensive experience in the application, development and sustainment of an MRO engineering team
