WORDPRESS DEVELOPER & MANAGER Description Your primary responsibility will be developing new and maintaining current WordPress custom themes, plugins, and Custom Post Types. You will be asked to both follow specifications defined by the Sr. Web Director and bring your own creative problem solving and custom coding abilities to all web projects. You---ll be working as part of a team under the Sr. Director of Web Services, and long side Account Strategist, Sr. Creative Director, and other partners during the entire development lifecycle of a project, as well as a supporting that project after it ships. Technologies you---ll be working with include, but are not limited to: WordPress, PHP JavaScript, Bootstrap, Advanced Custom Fields and various other plugins and hosting environments. A good candidate for this role believes that well written code is beautiful, it is an art form. You pride yourself on simple, clean, reusable, and stable code. You believe that the simplest solution is often the best, and you are calm and collected under pressure while trouble shooting. You thrive when handling the demand and responsibility of website ---up-time---. Responsibilities ---Lead developer on all WordPress website. Sites include dynamic functions and custom themes. ---Write clean, testable code, using a variety of coding languages, including: PHP, HTML, CSS & JavaScript ---Provide written and verbal technical support to other team members ---Set up and maintain server environments ---Set up and maintain SSL, and DNS/domain configurations ---Ensure client hosting environments are up to date and secure ---Install WordPress/themes/plugins as needed ---Help clients and internal staff troubleshoot coding issues in a timely manner ---Build HTML5/CSS3 layouts from provided art files ---Work with designers to conform and perfect precise site aesthetics ---Rapidly solve code problems, perform debugs within code and compatibility issues ---Reading and following complicated text direction within assignments, emails, MS Teams ---Accurately interpret client specifications and identify website user requirements on an on-going basis ---Execute and contribute to all phases of the web development lifecycle ---Provide and ensure a timely response to external and internal requests and correspondence ---Help budget web development projects based on request ---Assist with website planning to meet client---s technical requirements ---Collaborate with all departments (Account Service, Media, Creative, Accounting) on web designs, user experience and functionality to determine if the site is codable based on those elements ---Assess web design accessibility to ensure all sites adhere to latest ADA compliance ---Input content into WordPress Content Management System ---Comprehend and execute edits from departments (Account Service, Media, Creative) and edits based on client request. ---Launch websites to make them live and public facing which usually requires quick edits and troubleshooting for any issues that could occur at time of launch ---Mange tasks for multiple clients, simultaneously at times, based on project deadlines ---Develop and deploy new website features to existing client websites ---Follow internal procedures and coding standards ---Troubleshoot, test and maintain the MDR custom theme code base ---Conduct Monthly Web Maintenance for assigned websites oSecurity Scans, proactive plugin, theme and WordPress updates oUpdates could result in necessary troubleshooting should updates negatively impact the user facing website. oPrepare Site Backups oPrepare Status Reports oContent Support oAccessibility Audits Qualifications: ---3-5 years of WordPress Development Experience ---Custom WordPress Theme development ---Expert execution of PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript Note: Majority of work is real time interfacing and interaction within our regular business hours and our clients--- regular business hours, 8:30am-5pm, CST. Occasional after business hours support is needed for rapid troubleshooting and problem solving on retainer clients' websites.
