Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Corpus Christi, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,492 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Corpus Christi, Texas, 78411! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: Required certifications for the position Must-Have: - Acute med/surg experience of 1 years within the last year - Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time Description: The unit has a total of 22 beds and a staff of 30. The daytime staff includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, and 1 unit secretary, with 0-2 sitters as needed. During the night shift, there are 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, and 0-2 sitters. Patient ratios are a maximum of 6:1. The unit utilizes standard EMR systems. Candidates with neuro patient experience, including CVAs, TIAs, and altered mental status (AMS), will be given preference. Typical procedures performed on the unit include care for med/surg patients. Standard nursing skills include IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance. Medication administration, communication with all members of the care team, and documentation in EHR are also essential. Other skills required include continuous bladder irrigation and NGT insertion and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have a friendly, positive, patient-centered approach and be team-focused. Candidates without the must-have skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred candidates will have 2 years of experience. Dress code is scrub attire. There is no weekend or on-call requirement.
