Job Summary and Qualifications The Certified Surgical Technician assists in patient care by preparation and performance. If routine and delegated duties according to standards of care, practice, policies and procedures of the Medical Center, and within the scope of training/certification. Provides assistance in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled procedures. Participates in call schedule to assist the department in providing 24-hour coverage. What you will do in this role: Determines priority on patient care and completes work within appropriate time frame. Ensures accuracy & completeness of work performed. Follows Medical Center’s policy and procedure in performing job functions, skills and tasks. Willing to adjust personal schedule in cases of workload fluctuations or other departmental needs. When assigned work is complete, seeks additional tasks to be done. Performs well in stress and emergency situations, demonstrating effective coping skills Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task. What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630 bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community.
