Qualifications: Current Texas RN License (or compact state license)
American Heart Association BLS CHPN - Certified Hospice and
Palliative Nurse Certification preferred Valid U.S. Driver's
License Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
documentation. Minimum of one year of nursing experience in
hospice, palliative care, ICU, ED, oncology, or med-surg preferred
Strong understanding of pain and symptom management in terminally
ill patients. Experience with end-of-life discussions and
family-centered care. Ability to work autonomously while
collaborating within an interdisciplinary team. Most contracts
require some on-call Hospice House RN Contract Details: $1,604 -
$1,769 per week* Openings are for 3 12 hour shifts per week
Nightshift As a Hospice House Registered Nurse (RN), you will
provide expert symptom management, comfort-focused care, and
emotional support to patients and families in an inpatient hospice
facility. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary
team, ensuring that patients experience dignity and peace at the
end of life. Provide hands-on nursing care, including pain and
symptom management, wound care, and medication administration in
accordance with the patient's individualized plan of care. Conduct
comprehensive nursing assessments and create/update care plans to
align with patient needs and goals. Collaborate with the
interdisciplinary team (physicians, social workers, chaplains,
CNAs, and volunteers) to ensure holistic patient and family
support. Educate patients and families on the dying process,
symptom management, and available support resources. Document
patient status, interventions, and care plan updates accurately in
the electronic medical record (EMR). Provide emotional support to
families, offering reassurance and guidance through the end-of-life
journey. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and agency
policies, including hospice Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and
Joint Commission standards. Participate in daily shift handoffs,
team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. All nurses on
contract with SHC are paid weekly. A hospice house is a specialized

home-like, peaceful environment for patients who can no longer be
