Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - ED Job Details: • Work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 hall chairs treating patients with ESI levels 1-5 • Patient ratios of 1:4 for low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients, may take up to 6 patients • Staffing includes 6-7 nurses per shift with charge nurse, triage nurse, and mid-shift nurse coverage • Day shift: 1 charge, 1 triage, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), 1 US, 1-2 techs • Night shift: 1 charge, 1 triage, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), US 7pm-midnight, 1 tech • Mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm unless providing critical care • Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS • Level II or Level III trauma experience required • Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, CPI • Greater than two years emergency department experience preferred • Typical procedures include assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IVs, urine collection, and lab draws • Equipment includes cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HP's, Tonopen and more • EMR system: Meditech with vital signs flowing into chart • EMTALA training mandatory • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs preferred, Sunday seasonal team spirit encouraged • Must demonstrate compassion, urgency, and strong teamwork skills Facility: This healthcare facility operates a busy emergency department that is transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma hospital, demonstrating their commitment to providing advanced trauma care.
