Job Description:
Job Description Description Summary: Manages the nursing
services and staff for a department; ensures quality and full
compliance with relevant policies and standards. The
medical-surgical unit focuses on GI. Many of our patients have
non-surgical abdominal pain, cirrhosis, hepatitis, non-surgical
bowel obstructions, intractable nausea and vomiting,
cholelithiasis, acute pancreatitis, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis,
Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, and upper and lower GI bleeds. We
also receive patients from surgery of less complicated cases and
medical-surgical overflow. This is a fast-paced unit with lots to
offer! We are a unit that values teamwork above all.
Responsibilities: - Implementing and monitoring programs and
practices for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing
care for patients and their families - Ensuring consistent
application of nursing services policies and standards throughout
the organization - Monitoring patient outcomes and quality and
effectiveness of nursing care - Overseeing performance of teams;
identifying and addressing staff training and development needs -
Apprising medical staff, department heads, and administrators in
matters related to nursing service and strategies Requirements:
Education - Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelors of
Science in Nursing required - Master's degree in Nursing, Health
Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related
advanced degree in health related field preferred Experience -
Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical patient care experience in a
relevant setting - Minimum of 2 years of healthcare leadership
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications - RN license in good
standing in state of employment or a compact state , if applicable
- Registered Nurse (RN) required - BLS - American Heart Association
- Additional certifications required in accordance with Registered
Nurse certification requirements for the unit(s) the Clinical
Director is responsible for. Work Type: Full Time
