Job Description:

Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital.
The RN prepares equipment, assists physicians during examinations and treatments, and administers prescribed medications.
The RN observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress, and participates in planning and implementing patient care.
The RN directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures, and offers leadership and direction to support staff.
The medical-surgical unit at Shoreline Hospital provides exceptional care for Ortho, Oncology, and Med/Surg patients.
The RN cares for patients with elective surgeries, fractures from the ER, and medical overflow, and treats patients with chemotherapy/hematology interventions.
The team is passionate about taking care of the oncology population and focuses on creating an environment that manages serious situations/conditions with sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
  
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient vital signs
  
• Observe and maintain records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    
  • Two years of Oncology nursing experience preferred
    
  • Current Texas State RN License
    
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
    
  • Oncology Clinical Nurse Certification (ONCTM) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred
