General Purpose of Job:This position provides support the STAR Kids Administrative Office in reporting and operational metrics. This position will assist in the collection and editing of information, data and metrics used by STAR Kids and DHP leadership from various sources. This position must be able to work independently across various areas within STAR Kids as well as other DHP departments. While not directly involved in communicating with outside stakeholders, the information and reports gathered and collated by this individual will be sent to outside parties, e.g. Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in Texas Medicaid and managed care desired.
    • Ability to quickly learn about STAR Kids programs and processes.
      • Ability to learn to use reporting capabilities of software products or business intelligence tools used by STAR Kids.
        • Serve as the STAR Kids super user on the business intelligence software tool used to extract data from the STAR Kids service coordination system.
          • Ability to exercise judgment in the review of information being maintained or collected in the department administrative office.
            • Maintaining integrity of certain data in the STAR Kids system used by the Service Coordinators to perform member assessments.
              • Microsoft Office skills required, especially highly capable skills with Excel.
                • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office PowerPoint desirable.
                  • Maintain utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
                    • Maintain compliance, as required, with regulatory agencies that conduct intermittent reviews and audits to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance with Federal, State entities as well URAC.
                      • Follow Driscoll Health System and Driscoll Health Plan policies and procedures.
                        • Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to Corporate Compliance and integrity guidelines.Education and/or Experience:
                          • At least a high school education is required, but some college is highly desirable.
                          • 1-2 years of previous experience working in an office providing support services or data gathering activities similar to those outlined here.
                          • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
                          • Previous experience with managed care and/or Texas Medicaid desirable.
