Overview Open & closing dates Opening and closing dates08/19/2020 to 12/31/2020 Service Excepted Pay scale & grade VM 15 Salary $225,000 to $245,000 per yearEducation and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay) Appointment type Permanent Work schedule Full-Time Duties SummaryPhysicians assigned to the Office of the ACOS/PC provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of General Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Other responsibilities may include education of medical students or residents, or research. A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized for a Highly Qualified Individual.This vacancy will remain open until filled. The first cut-off date is 8/31/2020. Additional applications will be referred as needed.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Care Physicians are responsible for providing patient care to their assigned panels, as well as help cover patients outside of their panels when staffing needs indicate a need for this. They are responsible to provide acute and chronic care, to include prevention through age and gender specific immunizations and screenings. The care provided is to comply with clinical practice guidelines as measured by the External Peer Review Program and the Clinical Reminder reports. Physicians whose responsibilities may include teaching of medical students and house staff will comply with the GME requirements for teaching and supervision. Physicians whose responsibilities include leadership and administration will be responsible for: enforcement of VATVCBHCS policies, rules and regulations, and of the Medical Staff Bylaws; to provide leadership in the application of clinical practice to organizational processes and/or systems improving outcomes at the service level; to achieve excellent customer satisfaction; to assure compliance with clinical practice guidelines and to work collaboratively with others; to create a system to promote state-of-the-art acute, chronic and preventive care; for performance improvement process; to keep abreast of changes as appropriate; and to serve on the Primary Care Committee and other committees as assigned. Also, those leaders who are involved in teaching programs and research are responsible to provide an environment supportive of education, training and research. All staff has responsibility to understand the VA mission; to establish effective and productive relationships with hospital administration, hospital staff, patients and the community as appropriate; to comply with training requirements and to contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff. All staff will participate in the Peer Review process. Primary Care Providers are expected to complete the Women's Health Training to gain certification to be able to provide Women's Health care. Primary Care Providers are expected to complete the PACT Training and TMS mandatory training, as well as training for Tele Medicine/Tele Health, to be able to provide care in this modality.
