Port Corpus Christi (PCCA) is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional who will assist with general functions of Revenue Accounting for the PCCA. This position is under the direct supervision of the Revenue Accountant. STAFF ACCOUNTANT ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Responsible for processing billings of PCCA leases and preferred storage agreements.Responsible for tracking and billing customers with variable rent and guaranteed through-put requirements.Responsible for maintaining files and updates for billing of leases, franchises and easements as directed by the Revenue Accountant.Responsible for handling customer inquiries--regarding reporting, billings and payments,--and reconciling customer accounts.Assists in monthly and year-end processes; prepares schedules and analysis as--required and provides documentation to external auditors as requested through Revenue Accountant.Prepares special reports and analysis and--performs related duties and tasks as--assigned.As a valuable member of the Accounts--Receivable team, you will be responsible for cross training in all department functions and providing assistance to other employees to maintain departmental efficiency.Ability to multi-task without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness.Must possess working knowledge or ability to rapidly assimilate Federal, State, and Port regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.Maintains accounting controls by adhering to established policies and procedures of assigned tasks.Adheres to PCCA policy, promotes a culture cultivating PCCA SEAPORT values.Maintains high-level of professionalism and--integrity; promotes good employee and customer relations.Drives vehicle as necessary to complete assigned tasks and works requisite hours necessary to fulfill position objectives.Ability to identify and resolve problems, to--establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other--agencies and the public, and to stay current on legislations/regulations pertaining to the assigned areas of responsibility.Exceptional communication and--interpersonal skill are essential for interacting with staff, the public, and stakeholders.Ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information.Strong Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Self-starter and self-motivated; highly--organized and detail oriented with strong communication skills desired.Punctual and team oriented with ability to work well with others. CANDIDATE PROFILE: The preferred candidate for this position should be an organized, polished and disciplined individual with a focus on maintaining optimal integrity in support of the PCCA. They must possess the following: EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work--in Accounting. (Transcripts will be required to be submitted). Master's Degree in Accountancy or Certified Public Accountant accreditation highly valued. (Transcripts will be required to be submitted).Must possess valid driver's license.Ability to obtain and maintain a--Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment. EXPERIENCE & JOB KNOWLEDGE: Three years of experience in accounting. Experience in interfacing effectively with--diverse groups. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in a field environment, with some exposure to the elements when visiting worksites; occasional general office environment.Ability to operate light-weight highway--vehicles and standard office equipment--and to work the requisite hours to fulfill--position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
